1957 Chevrolet Belair Projects
This barn-find car is just what I was hoping to
find when I started looking for '57 Chevy Bel
Air Convertibles.  It has been in a barn or (now)
in storage since 1975.  There's some rust in the
trunk at the sides - no problem - and a bit of
damage to the right side that needs attention,
plus a redo on the quarter panels.  The rest of
the car looks really good.  The original V-8
engine runs well.  I need to put in a new fuel
pump and do some work on the brakes.  The
car has the power options, too: steering, top,
antenna, and wipers!  I'm excited to get to work
on these great cars!
This 1957 Chevy Bel Air Convertible is in the
best shape of all of them.  The previous owner
started restoration, and the car runs well.
There's some body work to do (not much
because it's mostly solid and straight) along with
the interior and, well, this one should be done
fairly fast.  Now
that's something to look
forward to!
This looks like it will be a great car all on its own!  It has
the power options too - steering, brakes, windows and
seats.  There's no rust in the trunk or on the floor ... just
some surface oxidization.  The car was running well
when I bought it; I've had it in storage since then so it
may take some coaxing to get it going but should run well
after that.  I need to find a dash for this car.  This one will
be a straightforward restoration.

What can I say?  I love these '57s!  (Well, who doesn't?)
This is a solid builder, and it just didn't seem right to have
the Convertibles and the Sedans without having at least
one Hardtop Sport Coupe!  I'm planning on doing this one
back to original (Trim 673; Paint 811D-H).

I'm thankful that my brother saw this car in somebody's
barn ... and now it's ours!

But you want to see pictures of everything,
you say?

I'm working on it ... I plan to have photos of
the rest of these babies sometime this
summer.  I'm waiting for the wet weather to
pass, and then I'll pull them out of their
storage building and get out the camera!
